To scan a QR code, follow these steps based on your device type:
On iPhone or iPad
- Open the Camera app from the Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Control Center.
- Point your device so the QR code appears in the camera viewfinder.
- Your device will automatically recognize the QR code and show a notification.
- Tap the notification to open the link or information embedded in the QR code.
- Alternatively, you can use the Code Scanner tool by adding it to Control Center for quick access
On Android devices
- Open the Camera app and point it at the QR code.
- Wait for the camera to detect the QR code; a notification will appear.
- Tap the notification to access the content linked to the QR code.
- You can also swipe down from the top of the screen to access Quick Settings and tap the QR scanner icon if available.
- If your phone does not have a built-in scanner, you can download apps like Google Lens to scan QR codes.
- For QR codes already on your screen (like in images or emails), some Android devices support a feature called Circle to Search, which lets you scan QR codes by circling them with your finger
On Samsung Galaxy phones or tablets
- Open the Camera app and point it at the QR code.
- The QR code will be read automatically; tap the pop-up message to open the link.
- You can also swipe down to access Quick Settings and tap “Scan QR code.”
