To screen record on a PC running Windows 10 or 11, you have several built-in options:

Using Xbox Game Bar (Windows 10 and 11)

• Press Windows key + G to open the Xbox Game Bar.
• Click the Record button or press Windows key + Alt + R to start recording your screen.
• To stop recording, press Windows key + Alt + R again or open the Game Bar and click the stop button.
• The recorded video is saved as an MP4 file in the Videos > Captures folder.
• You can also enable microphone recording to capture your voice during the screen capture

Using Snipping Tool (Windows 11)

• Press Windows key + Shift + R to open the Snipping Tool screen recorder.
• Select the area of the screen you want to record or choose the entire screen.
• Use the toolbar to start, pause, and stop recording.
• You can toggle microphone and system audio recording on or off.
• After stopping, save the recording as an MP4 file or edit it with Clipchamp, a free video editor from Microsoft

• Xbox Game Bar is primarily designed for gameplay but works for any screen activity.
• Snipping Tool screen recording is exclusive to Windows 11.
