To send HD photos on WhatsApp, follow these steps:
- Open an individual or group chat in WhatsApp.
- Tap the attachment icon (paperclip on Android, plus "+" on iOS) or the camera button within the chat.
- Select the photo or video you want to send from your gallery.
- Before sending, tap the HD button or icon that appears at the top of the screen (near editing tools).
- Choose HD quality in the popup that appears, instead of the default standard quality.
- Tap Send to share the photo or video in high resolution.
If you want to always send media in HD quality by default, you can set this in WhatsApp's settings:
- Go to Settings > Storage and data > Media upload quality and select HD quality.
Keep in mind:
- Sending HD media uses more data and may take longer, so WhatsApp may prompt you to confirm if you want to send over cellular data instead of Wi-Fi.
- Recipients will see an "HD" label on the photos/videos they receive in high definition.
- The HD option preserves much better detail compared to standard compressed images, though some downscaling still occurs to balance quality and file size.
This feature is available on both iPhone and Android with the latest WhatsApp version
