To take a screenshot on a Chromebook, you can use the following methods:
Keyboard Shortcuts
- Full screen screenshot: Press Ctrl + Show Windows keys together. The Show Windows key looks like a rectangle with two vertical lines and is usually located in the top row of the keyboard (often the F5 key)
- Partial screenshot: Press Shift + Ctrl + Show Windows , then click and drag to select the area you want to capture
- Window screenshot: Use the Screen Capture tool (see below) to select a specific window to capture
If you are using an external keyboard without a Show Windows key, press **Ctrl
- Shift + F5** instead
Using the Screen Capture Tool
- Click the Settings icon at the bottom right of your screen, then select Screen Capture.
- In the menu that appears at the bottom, choose whether to take a full screen, partial, or window screenshot.
- You can use the space bar to switch between screenshot modes and the arrow keys or Tab key to adjust the screenshot size and position before capturing
On Chromebook Tablets
- Press the Power button + Volume down button to take a screenshot
Where Screenshots Are Saved
- Screenshots are automatically saved as PNG files in your Downloads folder
