To turn off Vanish Mode on Instagram, follow these steps:

1. Open the Instagram app and go to your Direct Messages by tapping the Messenger or DM icon in the top right corner.
2. Select the chat where Vanish Mode is enabled (the chat will have a darker background and a circle indicator).
3. Swipe up from the bottom of the chat screen and release. This will immediately turn off Vanish Mode, returning the chat to its normal appearance

Alternatively, if swiping up does not work, you can disable Vanish Mode through chat settings:

1. Open the chat with Vanish Mode on.
2. Tap the chat header or the person’s name at the top to open chat settings.
3. Scroll to find the "Privacy and safety" or "Vanish Mode" toggle.
4. Switch off Vanish Mode from there

Note that Vanish Mode must be turned off individually for each chat where it is active, and messages sent in Vanish Mode are permanently deleted once the mode is turned off
