Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was giving a talk as part of his "Prove Me Wrong" debate series, addressing over 3,000 people when a single shot struck him in the neck. The shot appeared to be fired from the roof of a nearby building, the Losee Center, approximately 130 meters away. Chaos erupted, and Kirk was quickly carried away but later died from his injury. Authorities launched a manhunt for the shooter, who is described as a person of college age, and the FBI has released images and video footage of a suspect. The weapon recovered was a high-powered bolt-action rifle.
