Howrah Metro Station is an underground metro station on the Green Line (Line 2) of Kolkata Metro, located beneath the new and old complex of Howrah Railway Station, Howrah, West Bengal, India. It is known as the deepest metro station in India. The station connects to Mahakaran station in Kolkata through India's largest under-river metro tunnel beneath the Hooghly River. Howrah Metro Station provides interchange access with Indian Railways at Howrah railway station for suburban, regional, and long-distance services. The adjacent station on the Green Line to the east is Mahakaran, and to the west is Howrah Maidan Metro Station. The station was completed and inaugurated on March 6, 2024. There is also a Howrah Maidan Metro Station, which is the terminal station of the Green Line located in Howrah Maidan, near Howrah Municipal Corporation Stadium.
