Product Details:

• Product Name: Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly USP, 2%
• Active Ingredient: Lidocaine HCl, which is chemically designated as acetamide, 2-(diethylamino)-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-, monohydrochloride.
• Inactive Ingredients: Hypromellose, methylparaben, propylparaben, and sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid to adjust pH to 6.0 to 7.0.
• Composition: Each mL of Lidocaine HCl 2% Jelly contains 20 mg of lidocaine HCl.
• Packaging: Available in 30 mL and 5 mL tubes. A detachable applicator cone and a key for expressing the contents are included in the 30 mL carton.

Positive:

• Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly USP, 2% is used to prevent and control pain in procedures involving the male and female urethra.
• It is also used to relieve pain and itching caused by conditions such as sunburn or other minor burns, insect bites or stings, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, minor cuts, or scratches.
• Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly USP, 2% is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug, Xylocaine® (Lidocaine Hydrochloride Jelly, 2%) .

Negative:

• Lignocaine should be used with caution in patients receiving antiarrhythmic drugs such as mexiletine, since the toxic effects are additive. Antiepileptic drugs.
