Luke Briggs, 35, died following an arrest outside a 7-Eleven in Hoppers Crossing on July 15, 2024. During the arrest, he became unresponsive and subsequently spent eight days in a coma at the hospital before passing away. Two Victoria Police officers have been charged with negligent manslaughter in connection to his death. The officers are scheduled to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court after being charged by Homicide Squad detectives.
