He was born on April 2, 2001, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and played college football at Nebraska and later Rice University, initially as a quarterback before switching to wide receiver. McCaffrey was drafted by the Commanders in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft and has shown versatility as both a receiver and kick returner. He is part of the notable McCaffrey football family, being the son of Ed McCaffrey and younger brother to Christian, Max, and Dylan McCaffrey.
