Nature Republic California Aloe Fresh Powdery Sun Stick is a compact organic sunscreen in stick form that makes reapplying sunscreen easier. It is powered by robust SPF 50+ PA++++ and formulated with various natural ingredients such as calendula, chamomile flower and leaf, olive fruit, acerola fruit extracts, and aloe leaf juice for soothing and hydrating benefits. The key ingredients of the product are:
Key Ingredients:
-
Octocrylene: An oil-soluble chemical sunscreen agent that protects skin in the UVB and somewhat in the UVA II range with a peak absorption of 304 nm. It is often used to stabilize other photo-unstable UV-filters, for example, Avobenzone.
-
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate: A clear, oil-soluble, "cosmetically-elegant" liquid that is the most commonly used chemical sunscreen. It absorbs UVB radiation (at wavelengths: 280-320 nm) with a peak protection at 310nm.
-
Ethylhexyl Salicylate: A colorless to light yellowish oily liquid that works as a UVB (280-320nm) sunscreen filter with a peak absorbance at 306 nm. Its not a strong filter in itself, its always used in combination with other sunscreen agents to further enhance the SPF and to solubilize other solid UV filters.
-
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine: A weak sunscreen that protects against the sun rays that cause sunburn (UVB) and is somewhat effective against the UVA rays. It is quite stable and can help stabilize other, more vulnerable, sunscreen ingredients like Avobenzone.
-
Polyethylene: A white powdery thing thats the major component of glass and sand. In cosmetics, it’s often in products that are supposed to keep your skin matte as it has great oil-absorbing abilities. It’s also used as a helper ingredient to thicken up products or suspend insoluble particles.
The product is fungal acne (malassezia) safe and does not contain any harsh alcohols, common allergens, oils, parabens, or sulfates.
