The Yamaha YZF-R3, commonly known as the R3, is a 321 cc parallel-twin sport motorcycle produced by Yamaha since 2015. It has undergone updates over the years, with the 2019 model featuring a new fairing, upside-down forks, a lowered clip-on handlebar, and an LCD display replacing analog gauges. In 2024, the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R3 was unveiled with a new fairing design, integrated winglets for aerodynamics, an Assist and Slipper clutch, and enhanced electronic features including advanced LCD instrumentation and smartphone connectivity via Yamaha Motorcycle Connect (Y-Connect). It retains the same engine as previous versions. The R3 is an entry-level sport bike comparable to Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR300R, and KTM 390 series, with a 321cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing about 40.4 bhp and 29.4 Nm of torque. It features a lightweight chassis with 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels, upside-down front forks, mono-shock rear suspension, and disc brakes with ABS. For 2025, it is EURO IV+ compliant, with a lower kerb weight of 169 kg and a 14-liter fuel tank. It includes modern LED lighting, a single projector-type headlight, LED tail light and turn signals, and a connected LCD instrument cluster showing smartphone notifications and ride data. The seat height is 780 mm, which is relatively low among sport bikes. In India, the Yamaha R3 is available at a starting price of around ₹3,39,332 and is expected to be relaunched with new features and sharper styling, competing with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 400. This bike is designed to offer a lightweight, agile, and modern entry sport bike experience, ideal for new riders and those looking for a daily sport bike with track-worthy performance and advanced connectivity features.
