Achilles was dipped in the River Styx by his mother, Thetis, in Greek mythology. The River Styx is a mythical river in the Underworld, known for its magical properties that grant invulnerability to anyone immersed in it. The only part of Achilles left vulnerable was his heel, which Thetis held as she dipped him, leading to the famous term "Achilles' heel".
