Sheila is a main character in Tyler Perry’s film “Why Did I Get Married?” and its sequel, played by singer and actress Jill Scott. She starts out as an insecure, deeply religious wife in an emotionally abusive marriage to Mike, who belittles her weight and cheats on her with her friend Trina. Over the course of the story, Sheila finds the strength to leave Mike, rebuild her life, lose weight, and eventually remarry Troy, a kind sheriff who treats her with respect and love.
