To land (dock) on a space station in Starfield, follow these steps:

1. Approach the space station until you are within about 500 meters of it.
2. Target the space station by pressing the interaction button:
   • On PC, press E.
   • On Xbox controller, press A.
3. Once targeted and close enough, a prompt will appear giving you options to Dock or Hail the station.
4. To dock, hold down the dock button:
   • On PC, hold R.
   • On Xbox, hold X.
5. A docking cutscene will play, after which you will be docked and can board the space station.
6. After docking, you can exit your ship and explore the station, or undock when ready.

If you want to hail the station first (optional), hold the hail button:

• On PC, hold E.
• On Xbox, hold A.

This process is similar for docking with other ships as well, but if docking an enemy ship, you must first disable its engines by targeting and damaging them until the ship stops moving
