We live in the most recent period, the Quaternary, which is then broken down into two epochs: the current Holocene, and the previous Pleistocene, which ended 11,700 years ago.

In astrology, there is no firm consensus as to the exact point when the Age of Aquarius begins, and when the March equinox point moves from the Zodiac sign of Pisces to Aquarius. Most astrologers believe that the Age of Pisces began roughly around the year 200, and the Age of Aquarius begins in the new few hundred years, though there are some differences of opinions.
