KS2 stands for Key Stage 2, which is the legal term for the four years of schooling in maintained schools in England and Wales normally known as Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6. Children in this stage are typically aged between 7 and 11 years old. At the end of Year 6, children have their KS2 SATs tests, which assess their abilities in reading, maths, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
