As of the latest information available, Taal Volcano is still under Alert Level 1. This means that there is low-level unrest without an imminent eruption. Under Alert Level 1, sudden steam-driven or phreatic explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas may occur. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is closely monitoring the volcanos activity and has advised residents to stay indoors and wear masks when venturing outside due to the volcanic smog or vog that has been affecting nearby towns since the start of September 2023.
