Master Shifu, a character from the Kung Fu Panda franchise, is a red panda. Despite the name, red pandas have no connection to the giant panda family. They are a separate species and are also known as lesser pandas. Master Shifu is the headmaster of the Jade Palace and the trainer of the Furious Five. He is a wise teacher who mentors both the Furious Five and Po, the title character. Dustin Hoffman voices Master Shifu in the films and TV specials.
