Master Shifu, the character from the Kung Fu Panda franchise, is a red panda. Despite the name, red pandas have no connection to the giant panda family and are a separate species. Red pandas are small animals, about the same size or a little larger than a domestic cat, with reddish-brown fur and large pointy ears edged with white.
