Napoleon is a character in George Orwells novel "Animal Farm"). He is a Berkshire boar, a large pig, and one of the three pigs that take Old Majors ideas and turn them into "Animalism" - a system of thought that encourages the animals. Napoleon is the main antagonist of the novel and the leader of Animal Farm after the Rebellion. Although he is at first a common farm pig, he exiles Snowball, another pig who is his rival for power, and then takes advantage of the animals uprising against their masters to eventually become the tyrannical "President" of Animal Farm, which he turns into a dictatorship). Napoleons method of "getting his own way" involves a combination of propaganda and terror that none of the animals can resist. He uses corrupt historical revisionism to portray himself as a hero, claiming responsibility for the animals victory in the Battle of the Cowshed, when in reality, it was Snowball who had performed heroic acts in this battle). Napoleons greatest crime, however, is his complete transformation into Mr. Jones (original owner of Animal Farm)).
