App Clips are small parts of an app that allow users to complete a task quickly without downloading the entire app. They are designed to appear as soon as you need them, like ordering a coffee or renting a scooter, and are focused on a specific task. App Clips are small in size, under 10MB, and launch within seconds at the bottom of your iPhone. They can be discovered in several ways, including through App Clip codes, NFC tags, or QR codes, scanning them with your iPhones camera, or tapping the NFC tag. They can also be launched from Safari, Maps, Messages, and the Recents category in the App Library. Once the task is done, you can offer the opportunity to download your full app from the App Store.

To use an App Clip, you can get it from App Clip codes, NFC tags, QR codes, Safari, Maps, or Messages. When the App Clip appears on the screen, tap Open or Play. In supported App Clips, you can use Sign in with Apple, then make a payment using Apple Pay. With some App Clips, you can tap the banner at the top of the screen to see the full app. If you would like to disable App Clips, go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions, tap App Clips, and select Don’t Allow.
