Bunny lines are small, slightly diagonal wrinkles that appear on both sides of the nose, right below the bridge, that become visible when you scrunch your nose up adorably. They are caused by the flexion in the nasalis muscle, which functions to flare or close the nostrils, and become more prominent as we age due to the decline in collagen and elastin in our skin. Bunny lines are a result of repetitive facial movements such as smiling, frowning, or squinting our eyes. They can be prevented by avoiding sun exposure, smoking, and other air pollutants that speed up the aging process by damaging collagen and elastin production. There are two primary treatment options for bunny lines: neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or dermal fillers, such as Belotero or Restylane. The best treatment option for each person depends on wrinkle severity and desired end results.
