Economic activities refer to any activity that involves the production, distribution, or consumption of goods or services, or any action that involves producing, providing, purchasing, or selling goods or services. Economic activities can be divided into four essential categories: resource management, the production of goods and services, the distribution of goods and services, and the consumption of goods and services. The classification of economic activities divides them into categories that make it possible to define the sectors of activity, such as agriculture, industry, construction, and trade. Economic activities can be performed by individuals, enterprises, legal units, or establishments, and each unit has only one main activity. In labor force or employment by activity statistics, individuals are classified according to the main activity of the establishment or enterprise that employs them. Non-economic activities, on the other hand, are activities that do not provide any monetary benefit, such as activities initiated for personal content or for meeting human sentiments. Examples of non-economic activities include painting, singing, and helping a friend study without receiving any money for that help.
