According to Islamic rulings, wearing fake eyelashes is haram because it comes under the heading of hair extensions. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed those who fix hair extensions and the one who has that done. False eyelashes come under the same heading, as the real eyelashes are extended with the false ones. However, false lashes themselves are not haram, but they may make wudhu incomplete and therefore invalid. Most Islamic scholars and schools of thought have agreed that false hair in the form of wigs is not allowed. Although most scholars still insist that regardless of the type of materials used to create the false hair, it is still impermissible. Some scholars say that lash extensions are only haram if the water wudu cant reach the skin. However, wearing fake eyelashes is considered excessive beautification not warranted in Islam and thus goes against the spirit of the teachings of Allah. Therefore, it is best to avoid wearing fake eyelashes in Islam.
