MAGA Republicans are supporters of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement, which emerged during the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump. They are known for their combative character and extreme partisanship, and are often more conservative and evangelical than other Republicans. According to a recent Reuters-Ipsos poll, 31% of Republicans identify as "strong" MAGA supporters, 21% identify as "somewhat" MAGA supporters, and 38% do not support MAGA. MAGA Republicans are committed to the Republican Party, with approximately 90% of MAGA supporters self-identifying as Republicans or leaning GOP. They are less wedded to the Republican Party than non-MAGA supporters, however, and are more likely to prioritize loyalty to Trump over loyalty to the party. According to President Joe Biden, MAGA Republicans are those who refuse to acknowledge the results of the 2020 election and believe that the use of violence is a legitimate tool.
