A medium is a person who uses their psychic or intuitive abilities to communicate with spirits in other dimensions. Mediums can see the past, present, and future events of a person by tuning into the spirit energy surrounding that person. Mediumship is much more involved than psychicism because a medium is opening themselves to a discarnate energy. Mediumship can be broken down into two distinct categories: mental mediumship and physical mediumship. Mental mediumship utilizes the intuitive mind, while physical mediumship uses the actual physical body to obtain information from spirits.

The term "psychic" is often used as a catch-all phrase for anyone who works in the paranormal. Psychics tune into the energy of people or objects by feeling or sensing elements of their past, present, and future. Simply put, psychics rely on their basic sense of intuition and psychic ability to gather information for the person being read. A psychic isnt necessarily a medium, but a medium is a psychic.

Being a medium isnt the only psychic power out there, and in fact, it is actually one of the more complicated abilities to master. While mediums can speak to the dead, they can also become messengers and vessels for those who have transformed from physical beings into solely spiritual beings.
