Progressive lenses are a type of multifocal lens that corrects all vision needs in a single lens, allowing you to see clearly at every distance: up close, intermediate (computer), and far away. They are designed to have three areas or zones of magnifying power that change gradually within a single lens, each correcting a different prescription strength and organized by distance. Progressive lenses have a seamless look, unlike traditional bifocal and trifocal lenses that have telltale lines in the lenses. They are also known as "no-line" bifocals, trifocals, or multifocals, or even as varifocals. Progressive lenses are more expensive than single or multi-focal glasses because of the extra time that goes into creating a lens with multiple prescriptions and no lines. They can take some time to get accustomed to, but once you adjust to them, youll be able to enjoy the convenience of using only one pair of glasses for all your vision needs.
