Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the bodys blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system. Symptoms of leukemia can vary depending on the type of leukemia, and they tend to be mild at first and worsen slowly. Some people with leukemia have no symptoms, while others may experience the following common signs and symptoms:

• Fever or chills
• Persistent fatigue, weakness
• Frequent or severe infections
• Losing weight without trying
• Swollen lymph nodes, enlarged liver or spleen
• Easy bleeding or bruising
• Recurrent nosebleeds
• Tiny red spots in your skin (petechiae)
• Excessive sweating, especially at night
• Bone pain or tenderness

Other less common symptoms of leukemia include vomiting, aches in the arms, legs, or hips, pale skin, swollen gums or lymph nodes, and an enlarged spleen or liver. It is important to note that these symptoms can also be caused by other conditions and do not necessarily mean that you have leukemia.
