The Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, makes a limited number of immigrant visas available every year to people meeting certain eligibility requirements. Here are the requirements for DV Lottery 2025:

Country of Origin: The applicant must be a citizen of a nation that has low immigration rates to the US. The U.S. Department of State puts out a list of eligible and ineligible countries each year, and the list of countries may change each year.

Education or Work Experience: Each DV applicant must meet the education/work experience requirement of the DV program by having either at least a high school education or its equivalent, defined as successful completion of a 12-year course of formal elementary and secondary education, OR at least two years of qualifying work experience within the last five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform.

Submission of Entry: Applicants must submit entries for the DV-2025 program electronically at dvprogram.state.gov between 12:00 pm (noon), Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), October 4, 2023, and 12:00 pm (noon), Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5), November 7, 2023.

Confirmation Number: All DV-2025 entrants must go to the Entrant Status Check using the unique confirmation number saved from their DV-2025 online entry registration to find out whether their entry has been selected in the DV program. Entrant Status Check will be available on the E-DV website at dvprogram.state.gov from May 4, 2024, through at least September 30, 2025.
It is important to note that the principal DV applicant must have a high school education or its equivalent, or two years of qualifying work experience, but the spouse and children do not have to meet this requirement.
