The Bible mentions several spiritual gifts that are given by the Holy Spirit to individuals to build up the church, share His message, and glorify God. There are at least 19 spiritual gifts found in the Bible, and the three main passages describing them are Romans 12:6–8, 1 Corinthians 12:4–11, and Ephesians 4:11. Here is a list of some of the spiritual gifts mentioned in the Bible:
- Administration
- Being an apostle
- Discernment
- Evangelism
- Faith
- Giving
- Healing
- Helps
- Knowledge
- Leadership
- Mercy
- Miracles
- Prophecy
- Serving
- Speaking in tongues
- Teaching
- Wisdom
It should be noted that not every Christian believes all these spiritual gifts are still given by God. Some think that there were certain gifts, such as speaking in tongues, that were handed down only for a time when they were needed in biblical history and are no longer needed now. However, the purpose of the spiritual gifts is to edify, exhort, and comfort the church, and they are to be used for the benefit of others. Every person has a purpose and is gifted by the Holy Spirit, and by using the gifts given to us, we are helping others with their relationship with God and drawing closer to Him.
