Lung cancer symptoms may not appear until the disease is advanced, but some people may experience symptoms in the early stages. The most common symptoms of lung cancer include a persistent or worsening cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, hoarseness, or unexplained weight loss. Other symptoms may include coughing up blood, feeling very tired all the time, repeated bouts of pneumonia, and swollen or enlarged lymph nodes inside the chest. Less common symptoms of lung cancer include changes in the appearance of fingers, difficulty swallowing, wheezing, a hoarse voice, swelling of the face or neck, and persistent chest or shoulder pain.
