The two Palestinian territories are the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The Gaza Strip is a narrow strip of land located between Israel and Egypt on the Mediterranean Sea, while the West Bank is a larger area of land located within the country of Israel, stretching across the eastern border of Israel along the west banks of the Jordan River and most of the Dead Sea. The international community regards both territories as occupied by Israel since the Six-Day War in 1967. The Gaza Strip is governed by the Palestinian Authority, which also controls parts of the West Bank, while the West Bank is divided into three areas: Area A, Area B, and Area C, with different levels of Palestinian and Israeli control.
