A vCard, also known as a Virtual Contact File, is a file format standard for electronic business cards. They can be attached to e-mail messages, sent via Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), on the World Wide Web, instant messaging, NFC or through QR code. vCards can contain name and address information, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, URLs, logos, photographs, and audio clips. They are used as a data interchange format in smartphone contacts, personal digital assistants (PDAs), personal information managers (PIMs) and customer relationship management systems (CRMs) . Other "vCard variants" have been used and proposed as "variant standards", each for its specific niche: XML representation, JSON representation, or web pages.

In addition to electronic business cards, the term "V card" is also used in the context of the Pokémon Trading Card Game to refer to a type of card. These cards usually depict fully evolved Pokémon, but they still count as basic Pokémon, meaning they can be summoned right away without the need for evolution. Pokémon V cards possess higher HP than an average Pokémon card and usually have powerful move sets and abilities. If a V card is knocked out, the opponent will take 2 prize cards instead of one.

Its also worth noting that "virtual cards" can refer to randomly-generated single- or multi-use credit card numbers that are linked to a credit card account. These virtual cards are used for online transactions and can help protect against fraud.
