Vampire teeth are also known as fangs or canines. Canines are the pointed teeth located on either side of the incisors in the upper and lower jaw. They are naturally long and pointed to help us bite into and tear food. In some cases, the canines can be extremely sharp and elongated, appearing similar to a vampire’s fangs. While not quite as sharp and intimidating as Hollywood vampires, some people do naturally develop pointy, fang-like canine teeth akin to vampire fangs. When the canine teeth are abnormally long or sharp, this condition is called elongated canine teeth or “vampire teeth” . Having vampire teeth is a common dental issue, and it can be prevented and fixed. If the canines appear extra-long and pointed and are positioned high above the other teeth, they may cause a person to feel embarrassed. However, using braces is part of the process to help the teeth line up properly, and the treatment can last for a couple of years.
