Jehovahs Witnesses use a Bible translation called the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. The translation of the Old Testament, which Jehovahs Witnesses refer to as the Hebrew Scriptures, was released in five volumes in 1953, 1955, 1957, 1958, and 1960. The complete New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures was released as a single volume in 1961 and has since undergone various revisions. Jehovahs Witnesses appreciate the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures for its use of Gods name, accuracy, and clarity. The New World Translation is distributed without charge, so millions are able to read the Bible in their mother tongue, even those who otherwise could not afford to own a Bible.
