Texas A&M University has a student military organization called the Corps of Cadets, which is the oldest student organization on campus. The organization is composed of three Air Force Groups, three Army Battalions, and three Navy/Marine Corps Companies, and all military branches are represented in the organization of the Cadet Corps. Approximately 45% of the members of the Cadet Corps continue with the ROTC curriculum, contract with the military, and receive commissions as officers in the United States armed forces upon graduation. Texas A&M commissions cadets into all five branches of service — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard — but most of them are commissioned through the three ROTC programs — Army, Navy (with a Marine Corps option), and Air Force.
