An email attachment is a computer file sent within an email message. There are many different types of files that can be attached to an email, including:
-
Images: Photos or other types of images can be attached to an email as a way to share visual information with the recipient.
-
Videos: Videos can be attached to an email, although large video files may need to be compressed or uploaded to a file-sharing service.
-
MP3s: Audio files in the MP3 format can be attached to an email.
-
Documents: Documents in a variety of formats, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or PDF, can be attached to an email.
-
Zipped files/folders: Multiple files or folders can be compressed into a single zipped file, which can then be attached to an email.
To attach a file to an email, you can typically click on the paperclip icon titled "Attach a File/Files" and browse through your computers folders to select the file(s) you want to attach. Some email services, such as Gmail, also allow you to attach emails to other emails without downloading them first.
