According to multiple sources, a diesel car caught fire at Luton Airports Terminal Car Park 2, which subsequently spread to other vehicles and caused a major fire that damaged up to 1,500 cars and partially collapsed the car park building. The fire started on the third floor of the car park and was first reported at 8:47 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. The driver of the car that caught fire reportedly leapt out of the vehicle while it was still moving. The fire caused flights to and from Luton Airport to be suspended until 3 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
