There are several cat breeds that shed the least. Here are some of them:
- Sphynx: This breed is hairless, so it doesnt have fur to shed in the first place.
- Cornish Rex: This breed has a coat that lies in tight waves close to the skin, which results in a low-maintenance cat that sheds very little.
- Devon Rex: This breed has a short wavy coat with modified guard hairs and little undercoat, so it sheds very little.
- Peterbald: This breed is mostly hairless, so it doesnt have fur to shed in the first place.
- Bengal: This breed sheds less hair than many other breeds and is known to be hypoallergenic.
- Siamese: This breed has low-maintenance coats that can be cared for by brushing with a fine-tooth comb. Once their dead hair is removed, they’ll shed minimally.
- Singapura: This breed is the smallest breed of cat and is also one of the lowest-shedding cat breeds.
Its important to note that while these breeds shed less than others, all cats shed to some extent. Additionally, no cat is completely hypoallergenic, as the allergen-causing protein that cats produce is found in their saliva, urine, and dander.
