• Dry air: The most common cause of nosebleeds is dry air, which can dry out and irritate the blood vessels in the nose, making them more prone to injury or breaking.

• Trauma or injury: Nosebleeds can also be caused by trauma or injury to the nose or face, such as from nose-picking, forcefully blowing the nose, or an impact to the outside of the nose or face.

• Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions can increase the risk of nosebleeds, such as high blood pressure, blood clotting disorders, and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.

• Nasal and paranasal tumors: Tumors in the nasal or paranasal area can cause nosebleeds.

• Nasal polyps: Nasal polyps are noncancerous growths in the lining of the nose or sinuses that can cause nosebleeds.

• Nasal surgery: Recent nasal surgery can cause nosebleeds.

• Allergies and infections: Allergies, infections, and other respiratory illnesses can cause inflammation and irritation in the nasal passages, increasing the risk of nosebleeds.

Most nosebleeds can be treated at home by pinching the nostrils together and leaning forward. However, if nosebleeds are frequent, severe, or prolonged, its important to see a doctor or an ear, nose, and throat specialist to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.
