Disney World is located in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, United States. These two cities are part of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which is a governing jurisdiction created in 1967 by the State of Florida at the request of Disney. The Walt Disney World Resort is located within Orange and Osceola counties, and is closest to the cities of Winter Garden and Kissimmee. However, most of Disneys property is closer to Kissimmee, which borders a wide stretch of Disney property. Highway 192, also known as Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, is the main artery in Kissimmee, and its western portion runs right near Disneys Animal Kingdom. As you head east, you can turn down Griffin Road, take it to World Drive, and be at Disneys Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and the Magic Kingdom within minutes. Celebration, which was developed by Disney in the mid-1990s, is located just off 192, near I-4, and is an unincorporated part of Kissimmee.
