The Grand Canyon is located in the northwest corner of Arizona. More specifically, it is situated between Lake Powell and Lake Mead, and the northeast end of the Grand Canyon starts at Lake Powell and the city of Page at the Utah-Arizona border. The western end of the Grand Canyon is where the Colorado River empties into Lake Mead at the Arizona-Nevada border. The closest city to the Grand Canyon is Williams, which is located just 2 miles outside the park’s south entrance station. Other towns and cities near the Grand Canyon National Park South Rim include Tusayan, Flagstaff, and Grand Canyon Junction. However, Grand Canyon Village inside of the national park is the closest town to the Grand Canyon South Rim, and it is the first destination most visitors reach upon entering the Grand Canyon.
