J.J. Watt played college football at Central Michigan and Wisconsin. He started his college career at Central Michigan in 2007, but later transferred to Wisconsin in 2008 as a walk-on. At Central Michigan, he played as a tight end, but he left the school after his freshman year because he was not happy with the way he was being used in the team. He then transferred to Wisconsin, where he played as a defensive lineman.
