Taylor Swift did not attend college, but she graduated high school even while on tour for her first album. She received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from New York University in 2022. Although she has become the subject of several college courses at various universities, she never received a college degree herself. In her commencement speech at NYU, Swift talked about her education, explaining that she never got to have the normal college experience, per se. She went to public high school until tenth grade and finished her education doing homeschool work on the floors of airport terminals. Then she went out on the road on a radio tour, which consisted of a rental car, motels, and her mom and her pretending to have loud mother-daughter fights with each other during boarding so no one would want the empty seat next to them.
