Israel is bordered by several countries and territories. Its two formally recognized and confirmed borders exist with Egypt and Jordan since the 1979 Egypt–Israel peace treaty and the 1994 Israel–Jordan peace treaty. Israel is also bordered by Lebanon to the north and Syria to the northeast. The Israeli-occupied Golan Heights is the disputed border with Syria. The border with Lebanon is via the Blue Line, and there is a dispute over the Shebaa Farms area. The Palestinian territories of West Bank and the Gaza Strip also border Israel.
