National Bosss Day is celebrated annually on October 16th in the United States. However, if October 16th falls on a weekend, it is observed on the nearest working day. The holiday was created in 1958 by Patricia Bays Haroski, who registered "National Bosss Day" with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in honor of her father, who was also her employer. She created the holiday to improve office relationships between supervisors and their employees as well as raise cognizance to all the hard work bosses put into their jobs.
