The sand wedge is more lofted than a pitching wedge, which is generally in the range of 44 to 48 degrees loft. The loft of a sand wedge is about 54-58 degrees to help golfers get out of sand traps and bunkers. According to some sources, a sand wedge used for golf will be either 56 degrees or 58 degrees. However, there isnt a set sand wedge loft as most sand wedges are between 54-56 degrees. The loft of a sand wedge can be adjusted by bending it a degree or two.
