Cal Wilson, a stand-up comedian, writer, and actor, died at the age of 53 following a short illness. Her agency confirmed that she died at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, where she was receiving treatment. The official cause of death was complications from lung cancer, although she had also been diagnosed with brain cancer. Wilson was from Christchurch, New Zealand, but moved to Melbourne in 2003 to star in the sketch show Skithouse. She went on to become one of Australias best-known comedians, with appearances on Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Would I Lie To You, and her own Netflix stand-up special. Wilson was most recently co-host of Foxtels Great Australian Bake Off, which was in production when she was first admitted to the hospital. Wilson is survived by her husband Chris and son Digby.
