Doc Holliday died from tuberculosis. Shortly after beginning his dental practice, he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and given only a few months to live. He was told that a drier and warmer climate might slow the deterioration of his health, so he moved to Dallas, Texas, and later to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where he died in a rented room at the Hotel Glenwood. He became bedridden, lapsed into a coma typical of TB patients, and died within a few weeks on November 8, 1887.
